Extended Day Treatment
A program for children ages 6 to 12 who are struggling with social and emotional issues. These issues are addressed through Rushford's comprehensive behavior management system. The program provides a therapeutic setting in which children and families can improve social skills and peer relationships, increase family functioning, and enhance adult-child relationships. By provide a safe, structured environment, Extended Day Treatment supports children and their families so they may be successful within their home, school and community. Services are provided Mondays through Fridays during non-school hours for an average period of four to six months. The program is available on a modified schedule from the end of June through August. - Behavior-management promoting responsible decision-making, conflict resolution, skill building, choices and empowerment.
- Social skill development via socialization and therapy groups
- Group and family therapy
- Therapeutica recreational activities
- Individualized academic support
- Parenting education and support
- Psychopharmacological intervention, as needed
