Safe Homes
Rushford's Safe Homes program provides a safe, stable environment for children ages 3-12 who have been removed from their homes by the Department of Children and Families due to neglect or abuse. Once placed in the Safe Home, children are evaluated and then placed with foster families who can best meet their needs. The purpose of the Safe Home is to reduce disruptions in foster care placements, and to provide a transition period for the child and the foster family during which the child and the family can get to know each other before the placement.
Services provided:
- Individual, sibling and family support
- Medical, dental and mental health assessment coordination
- Case management
- Academic support
- Structured social and recreational activities
